Finally 60 degrees, great loads, what next?

Been shooting mostly at 30-40 degrees for months, finally today 60. Had some loads ready and had great accuracy and low SDs. Powders in use were hogdon 4350, 4831SC, and r15.

I have heard stories from Northern and Colorado shooters coming back from the Berger match that their loads went hot in AZ weather and lost accuracy......

What do you do from here for summer matches where temps are 80-90s? At times there is a 30 degree variance in one day between am and pm. Special custom loads for those matches? Do you adjust for forecasted temps using the powders temp factor?

Put 10 rounds in your pants pocket for a while, then run them over the chrono to see how they do. Should be around 80-85 degrees. :)

Try the pants pocket trick and make sure your barrel is still warm. Or insert the rounds into your chamber while waiting for the barrel to cool. Not exactly the same as shooting in hot weather but an indication. With the powders you are using I am betting you could drop your load .3-.5 grain if you are near max now. My Varget loads developed in the high 30s/low 40s needed to be adjusted about that much when shooting in the high 80s/mid-90s.

Thanks for the info, tried a pocket, also left them in the car yesterday, it got to about 75 in there. These loads have been reduced .3-.5 from the week prior at 50 degrees where I noticed them getting speedy.
Just was wondering what shooters are doing that may be more calculated or methodical.
