FINAL INSPECTION, THE REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE!!

As many of you might remember, my Wife Marilyn had a left shoulder replacement a few years back, and then about six weeks into it, fell and broke the entire fix.

They then had to redo the entire thing, only this time did the reversal, placing the ball in the shoulder and the cup on the bone.

Today, she had her final visit to her Orthopedic Surgeon and got a full release. She has at least 80% total movement. No pain.IMG_4138.jpeg

Is that what they call a reverse? I think it is from what dr is telling me, and both of my shoulders need this repair, but I am putting it off as long as I can. My daughter is a therapy assistant and tells me her patients with the reverse get more strength and range of motion with the reverse.

The repairs they can do today are truly amazing....part carpentry and part doctorin'.

Been down those repair paths many times for knees...with eventual replacement.

Glad it's all working out for her.

Yes. This is the reversal.

In The first surgery, they did a normal, with the ball on the humerus bone. But when she fell, it messed the top of the Humerus Bone it messed things up so bad the opted for the reversal.

Looks great. Sounds like the reverse should replacement was a success.

If you want to see something really crazy google "rotationplasty". Thought it was crazy when I first learned about it in school, but these reverse joint replacements actually work very well.
