For a production rifle, the Blaser shoots very well under practical LR.

I shoot a 308 and 243 win Blaser Lrs2 and find them exellent rifles, would be great to get hold of a 284 win 30 inch barrel for my Lrs2 to shoot f open or if none able to make aftermarket barrel maybe cut and thread bedding section with old LRS2 barrel to accommodate a nice 30-31inch heavy profile barrel for FTR-F open, would also add some weight to LRS2 stock to ballance rife has anyone attempted this?

Paul, the process you describe has been done by several gunsmiths over here with good results. It is possible to get a custom barrel in any calibre. However, I haven't used any of these barrels myself som cannot attest to exactly how well these will shoot (but it should be as good as the barrel blank can shoot ????)

I'm contemplating doing this in order to get a 6XC barrel or maybe a straight 243 with a 1:8 twist.

I also saw a rifle a swedish shooter used, he had custom built a stock not entirely unlike the LRS to get the weight up on his R93. I've also seen another variant which was simply two threaded holes added to the original stock and the shooter screwed on a lump of shaped steel when he wanted to increase the weight.
