Blaser R93 rifles

I've had quite a few questions regarding my Blaser R93 rifle. Even with 2 million rifles sold, it seems to be fairly uncommon / unknown in the US.

Well, it's an interesting rifle. Unorthodox for a bolt user perhaps, but it has proven to be a great tool for shooting and especially hunting. The barrel change, repeatable accuracy and "transportability" convinced me to make the transfer from ordinary bolt action rifles. So far I've used 6 barrels and they've all shot 0.4 MOA or better (with bipod/backrest) but I've yet to break the 0.25 MOA limit. I shoot mosly from 400-1000 meters (450 to 1100'ish yards) with most shots being 4-650.

I've made a short film on some of the features in my rifle. Even though this is a "no-gunsmith" rifle, aftermarket parts are steadily popping up and quite a few of them enhance or improves the features of this rifle. The film is on Youtube behind this link Blog 25: A better Blaser

There's also a post on the Blaser rifles in Gun of the Week 12

Hope this was of some interest.

Interesting video, Roe.

The standard R 93 trigger is already very good. What difference did you find when you put in that after market trigger ?

I had one with 3 barrels. I had a 257 Wheaterby that shot a few groups that were 0.25 ,but always stayed under half. When I bought mine the price wasn't to bad but when the USA dollar went down the shut Blaser priced their self right out of my price range. That and the lack of barrel lengths and contours.
It would have been nice if a gunsmith would have been able to rebarrel the Blaser. I probably would have keep mine.

Very clean trigger and adjustable from 100 to 1500 grams (3,5oz to 3 lbs). Very, very happy with this trigger and for me wanting a lighter trigger it was worth it.
I bought it from this Austrian gunsmith http://www.bixn-andy.at/abzuege.php

You can have any barrel you like on your Blaser, just chop of the chamber piece when your barrel is worn out. Thread it like an ordinary receiver and put in any blank you like.

Lots of urban legends and some true stories about Blasers. With 2 million R93 in use now statistics dictate something has to happen to at least one rifle...
