Filling front bag?

Dave in WI

I have a front bag coming in today for my BE front rest. It is the radius bag. What is a good product to fill it with. I am asking about a common fill that I can find locally, not any specialty products. How full do I fill it.
TIA
Dave

You can also try the black blasting media. I got a torn, leaking bag for half price at Northern Tool. Depending on where your at in Wi. You can try looking at Farm & Fleet, or Fleet/Farm. Tractor Supply might carry it also. If your anywhere near Madison, I would give you enough to fill a bag.

Blasting media is cheap. <$10 for a 50# bag. I use to use it in my fish tanks for substrate. Works great. I probably have a bunch down in my basement which will be great if I can find unfilled bags tomorrow when I go to town. If not, I'll probably just make something temporary to use for a bag until I come up with something better.

Not to start a war, but regular play sand is best in my opinion. The front needs to not be rigid. it makes the gun bounce. But that is just my opinion.

My profitable process-
Excavate
Trammel
Sluice
Manually pick out the nuggets
Pass over w/a magnet to remove iron
Shaker Table to remove the flour

Black Sand & Garnet remaining to fill bags after drying &/or give back to nature

The above process also yields ounces of.........GOLD!

As you are in Wisconsin you already have what you need, tube sand. Take what you need and patch up the bag again. You can still use the rest for weight in the pickup or scatter it on the snow/ice if you get stuck.

When I bought my Bald Eagle Rest I ordered their front bags with it. Contour and 3" Square, and both came already filled. Only my back bag needs to be filled. Not much added weight for the filling on the front bags and they shipped them in the USPS no weight limit box.

+1 on the small funnel, but I also added a straw to get it deeper into the bag. I just filled mine from BE yesterday.
