FFP vs SFP

I don't dial for wind.
I hold off
I generate a local click card which gives me the wind hold-off (in inches) per 5mph per range.
It tells me how many elevation clicks to dial per range, based on actual click value (not merchandised value).

With laser ranging this system has set my GH accuracy capability to 500-650yds.
A couple of my guns have been accurate enough to extend that -with V/H Coriolis, Spin Drift, and slope.
But I like the little card w/ranging binoculars only. It's simple, and stalking is hunting.

Perfect for me is a simple med-fine crosshair at 25x+.
As far as IPHY, MOA, or MILs, I take it to clicks, so it doesn't really matter.
1/4 clicks seem good enough for IPHY/MOA. I don't know what I would need for MILs.

Unless the scope is in IPHY you are just messing with yourself and making your life harder doing anything in inches. I don't dial wind either but all my wind data is in the graduation that my scope is in. All mine now are mils so I know how many mils I need to hold for whatever wind hold. If I had MOA it would be in MOA. I need to hold 2.4 mils left then I hold that. Not 24 clicks as there are no clicks in the reticle. Or inches. Same with MOA reticles that I have used over the years.

Clicks is just a waste of brain space to me trying to figure out how many clicks I need to hold seeing as my scope reticle isn't in clicks. When using inches and clicks you are doing multiple conversions.

Your set up though but if you wanted you can try some different ways to see if it actually makes your life easier.

Rob01, it is YOU who are making this complicated.

I need no special stadia. No special power setting. A med-fine crosshair is perfect for any shooting.
Example 500yd shot;
I don't have to figure out 7.9moa, or how many clicks that equals ,, it's 32 as declared on my click card.
I don't have to figure out how many MOA, or MILs, is which stadia.
It's a ~6" hold-off into a ~5mph wind, on my card..

IPHY happens to be the highest of adjustment resolutions, and most important, I visually know how far it is.
I don't have to look for something between some MOA or MIL stadia for it. I'm looking at the game/target, and moving point of aim X inches left or right.

For my hunting, I need binoculars.
I use laser ranging binoculars, and my click card, and any scope in the world.
It is NOT 'complicated'.

I like an FFP scope on the range or out after gophers, as I like the way they work with the graduated reticles. With a .22, they are awesome when out on gophers, I like having the markers for holdoff. I did a lot with SFP over the years, but, for those two purposes, FFP works better for me. For hunting, unless I was sitting in a stand all day, SFP works fine, 95% of my shots over the years were under 250yds. I don't want the weight or size of an FFP on a hunting gun, been using a SXS double with a holo sight on it a lot the last few yrs, as I like to spot and stalk, good to 200yds, can stretch to 300 if needed. If I wanted to sit on a big open space, I might take one of the FFP's I have, but, I'm not much of a sitter.
