FFP vs SFP

On long range guns, I shoot FFP exclusively, a Kahles floating dot reticle seems to cover 1" @ 500, 1 1/2" at a grand. I'd never go back to 2nd focal, other than close range AR or an ELR gun where I'd most likely have dialed wind and you can hold your miss with the reticle and be fine.

Even my 1-8 is FFP, lol, but I'd likely be fine with SFP.

I did buy a Athlon 4-16x40 SFP for coyote shooting because most of the time I'll be at PB distances and want a larger reticle at low power.

On 10x I can holdover/holdoff if I want to do that with the mildot reticle where mils are correct. Or spot for friends using mil!

And the knobs are in mil with finger adjustable turrets that can be capped, like the windage knob which I prefer. Also a zero setting but not ZS. Numbered rev indicator too.

Every other scope I have is FFP!

Interesting read. After over 50 years of shooting I'm about to purchase my first FFP scope. We'll see how it goes.
