FFL/Gunsmith health insurance.

I’ve been driving 32 years now and about 3.5 million miles, time to quit.
I’ve also had my class 7 license for 9 years and a successful part time shop in Virginia.
We’ve since moved to Kentucky and I’m in the process of building and putting together a bigger better shop.
I’m 63 so Medicare isn’t available to me yet.
My question is what do FFL/ Gunsmiths use for health care?
I’m in pretty good health cept every once in a while something falls off or has to be removed.
No high blood pressure or diabetes.
Just fat and ugly.
Thanks

I dont think it matters if your an ffl or gunsmith, same as any other self employed person. The cheapest blue cross plan they had for me here in Fl. was about $600 per month. Which was the basic 10K deductible, lots of out of pocket ext. I found a real crappy plan through united thats $300 a month but its only for 3 years. So if you get sick they only have to deal with it for 3 years. Bottom line is it is going to make you sick when you start shopping around.

Now, that right there is sad in a funny sort of way. -- or vice-versa.

I'd also advise anyone getting toward retirement, or lowering your income to take care of as much tooth care and repair as you possibly can -- while you can still easily cash flow the work. Your teeth are only goin one direction, and I don't think I've ever heard of good dental insurance. jd
