Felt Like Old Times

This week I ventured to my favorite gun shop to pick up some supplies. Of course, I had a list, old farts need lists. :( And of course I didn't expect to find everything on my list. The weather was so lousy here, so I didn't go to the range, but I needed an excuse to get out of the house.

Amazingly, I got everything on my list!!!:):):), 125 grain Hornaday XTP's - 38 caliber, 224 Hornaday 60 Vmax's, and CCI Standard Velocity 22 rimfire ammo. The best part - no quanity limits!!! Buy as much as your wallet can tolerate. :(:(:(

While I didn't need any since I'm full stocked, they had all types of Federal Primers, and a large selection of powder! It felt like the old days but perhaps it's just an illusion. :(

PS: Before you ask, they do not accept phone or mail orders.

PSS: Walking past the pistol display case, I caught a glimpse of those new Colt Pythons - OMG - I closed my eyes, counted to ten and kept walking. My wallet definitely could not stand that impact!!! :(:(:( Resisting revolver temptation is not my strong suit! ;););) If I handled one of those beauties, I'm sure my credit card would have taken a serious hit.:rolleyes::rolleyes: Self confession is good for the soul. ;)

Great to hear! Persistence gets rewarded!
Life’s too short to pass up a new gun. I spent a few years buying every gun I ever had a yearning for. These days, I go shopping in my safes first to make sure I don’t have one I’m looking at. With today’s high prices, it’s hard to find good deals.

Been there brother, albeit it's been quite a while for me. When I lived in western PA in the early 70's, one of my best friends, a newly graduated PA State Tropper, and I went hog wild - the gun shop owner at the time called us the "The Buy a Revolver a Month Gang.":rolleyes::rolleyes: We both had our first professional jobs, single, and money was abundant. :)

PS: Going into my winter shooting program soon - pulling out the 243 Win Browning X bolt - will be shooting those precious 85 BTHP's you sent me a while ago. Still have a bunch remaining - thanks a lot - still haven't seen those bullets on net or in the shops yet. As soon as the forever deer seasons end here in PA, I will be going out to the farms to try my luck at the predator population. That bullet does serious damage to predators.
