Feeding from Rem Magazine

I like to use Remington 700's for my varmint rifles. Have any of you guys had and luck getting a 6br to feed out of the Rem. magizines or does everyone just single shot them?
Kind of like a repeater, but -----.. Any tricks getting it to feed ?
Thanks, Pat

We just got off the phone with Mike Bryant. He was happy to share his modifications.

Starting with a .308 magazine, he fits it with a .223 mag block. The rear of the .308 mag itself is tweaked a bit to better fit the .223 block. Then he trims the rear of the .308 follower to better conform to the 6BR case. Slight adjustment of the feed lips may be necessary, but usually the block swap and follower profiling does the job according to Mike. He also uses a .223 mag spring. Mike just sent us some photos and a description and we'll build that into a page ASAP.

He recently did a 20BR this way and he had to go to a .221 Fireball mag block to get that to work.

Here's the info on Mike's website: http://www.bryantcustom.com/articles/6BRMagazine.htm

Finished conversion--basically a .308 mag with a .223 block and shortened/profiled .308 follower:

This is an extremely interesting post to me. I do not currently have a 6 BR, but will as soon as I can decide on all aspects of the build!
It's nice to hear about modifications such as the one Mr. Briant has come up with, however I would really like to hear from someone who has had this magazine modification done and had time to work with it in the field. Does it really work or is it just a somewhat fix that is not much better than the stock feeding, I don't know, do you?

I can tell you that a 22-250 Rem 700 can be made to feed the 20BR cartridge just as well as it did the 22-250. I have a Hunting partner that had one built by Kevin Weaver of Weaver Rifles Peyton Colo. and it really does feed well. I don't know what work he did to the mag or feed ramps but it worked.
I see no reason the same couldn't be done for the 6BR
