feedback on Atlas BT10 and/or UTG Recon A style bipods ??

Any advice to offer on this "style" bipod will be appreciated. Looking to upgrade a bit from the usual cheapo swivel stud and/or QD pic rail attachment Harris imitation bipods so common on Amazon (CV Life, Caldwell etc.) Specifically, the subject style is the multi-position style that locks the legs at multiple angles (45, 90, 135 degrees). Intention is to set legs at forward 45 degree position, such that the weight of rifle itself takes up whatever little slop there is (and there is always some slop). Thinking that may provide a significant amount of the bipod "preloading" all by itself, quite possibly as much as is needed for rimfires anyway. Seems reasonable, but have never heard much of any discussion of the pros and cons. I most often use a Protektor brand leather rabbit ear bag at the rear, always striving for straight back recoil; rifle typically rebounds from shoulder (very slightly) after each shot, to be pulled straight back into shoulder for next shot. Not fond of the springy slop in the imitation Harris types. In the habit of pulling on the bipod legs with off hand after each shot, to insure back to "hard stop" postion (towards shooter) prior to "preloading" for subsequent shot, because of that springy slop. Might could be I an just "doing it wrong". At any rate, currently playing with UTG Recon-A style and have an Atlas B10 ordered, to be mounted on bolt action rimfires (CZ, Tikka, Anschutz sporters, not true heavy bench rifles). Already do have a UTG Recon Flex M-LOK bipod on my Tikka T1X-KRG Bravo 17 hmr, but haven't as yet played with it much, but I do like the feel of it.

Have two UTG Bipods that I find to be excellent for Field work , on both a M-N , and a .308 . They are the square legged type , heavy duty . Very slight movement in the legs , and easy pre-load . Model number on the shorter one is : TL - BP 990 . The other is packed in my Field Bag , and I'm to lazy to dig it out . It's identical to the listed , but longer legs .

I have a set of the UTG.
Really like it, aside from the weight.
They also accept the Atlas accessories. AKA leg extenders & different feet.
I took the rubber feet off & have the single spike feet.
HUGE improvement!
No need to set up as you suggested, as the feet hold very well.
With the QD attachment & PIC rail they are easy to carry attached to my backpack & put on rifle when needed. (I use it primarily on my coyote gun)

thanks,
I like UTG stuff , currently using seven of them, as follow
I do setup legs forward with the two Recon series (but not the Tactical series, of course), and those have worked pretty well for me

on five shorter and/or lighter rifles
UTG Tactical OP Bipod, QD Lever Mount, Height 5.9"-7.3"
Savage B-FVSR (17 hmr & 22 wmr), Steyr-Zephyr (22 wmr), Tikka T1X (22LR), and TC/R 22

on two mid-weight bull barrel rifles
UTG TL-BP02-A Recon 360 TL Bipod, 5.5"-7.0" Center Height, Picatinny
Savage 93R17 BTVSS and CZ 457 Varmint 17 hmr

although I have and like some UTG, (not quite as heavy as yours) , what I have found I like best
on my two "heavier weight" rifles is Accu-Tac, very hefty, very stiff, deployed with legs forward
Accu-Tac BR-4 G2, Quick Detach, Small Rifle Bipod, Black
CZ 457 MTR 22 LR and Tikka T1X-KRG Bravo 17 hmr

thanks
I do like Atlas best of all on my (four) "nicer" sporter style rifles .. I was surprised that they seem to have just a bit of flex in them, but seem to naturally pre-load for me quite easily, and are the easiest to field adjust of anything I have ever used. Have found no need to go to legs-forward, though all are mounted to be slightly so inclined - (although my newest 1761 Annie I have not yet field tested)

on two Annie sporters and one Steyr
Atlas AccuShot Bipod w/ ADM 170-S Lever BT10LW17
1517AV 17 hmr & 1416 AV 22 LR and Steyr-Zepyr 17 hmr

on one Annie heavy barrel (as yet untested)
Atlas Bipod BT46LW17 w/ ADM 170-S Lever
Annie 1761 17 hmr 20" heavy barrel

I really like my Atlas Cal on my RimX I use for field matches
thanks
I do like my Atlas bipods a lot on Annies and Zepyrs, (three BT10s and one BT46), but I didn't go with the CAL only because I am doing bench (not field), so don't really need the extra versatility .. hmmm .. RimX ...even though sporter is more my style, color me envious !
