Feed back - scope warranties and performance for roughly equal prices

What service, quality and value could I expect from 4,4.5 to 14,16 X40-50 mm scopes from Vortex, Nikon, Bushnell, Weaver.

I know Leupold is first rate.

Any questions or comments would be welcome (like anecdotal)

I've had excellent repair experiences with Nightforce & Leupold so will continue to buy their scopes only. And do not hesitate to buy used, because of their true forever warranty coverage. They even pay the cost of return shipping, and it's usually the quick 2 or 3 day type.

Sightron Warranty is as good as it gets.

Nightforce and Leupold have pretty decent service.

From personal experience Bushnell scopes are rock bottom and their service sucks worse.

Don't trust a thing they say on their warranty card or the telephone.

Yes, they left a bad taste in my mouth. The best part they put it in print. No Bushnell products on my property ever again.

Got a friend with a couple of vortex's. We installed them on his 338 lapua & basically shook the recticle out of them within 20 shots. He called them up & they replaced in about a week or so. Cheaper scope but they stood behind it. He ended up putting a millet on his 338.

I have had good service from Nikon and Leupold. Never sent one of my Weaver 36's back.

About 5 years ago I bought a new Bushnell binocular/rangefinder. It would not focus on the right eyepiece. Month later, sent it back. Several weeks passed, and Bushnell returned it with a service ticket saying "No problem found". I called their Customer Service Dept., and told them the right eyepiece remained in one focus position and would not move. The lady said, "We found no problem, don't return it again". I own several Bushnell products, but will never buy another. I wound up selling it and bought same thing in a Leupold.

Over the years I've returned 2 Bushnell scopes for repair, one a rifle scope & the other a 15-45x spotting scope. In both instances I was informed they would cost more to repair than the price of a new one.

In each instance I was told they would give me a $50 credit toward the purchase of a new one, at their retail price, way above what they were being sold for by Midway, MidSouth, etc.

Never did like the rifle scope, so told them to keep it. But the problem with the spotting scope was a lens that had come lose & I felt that I might be able to fix it. Had them return it.

Mixed up some Brownell's AccraGlass, re-cemented the lens in place & that spotting scope has been perfectly usable ( for short range/ 300 yds. max) ever since.

That ended any future purchases of Bushnell for me.
