Except the label was created in MN and the first tracking update is in NC.Ok. So you know that a label generated doesnt mean it was picked up the next day. Dont you ?

I think you are correct. It appears the rifle shipped from a dealer or distributor in NC, was not picked up until 2/21 (who knows why?) and is at this very moment stuck due to the horrible weather in between NC and NH.It looks like you bought the gun from Minnesota and it was shipped from North Carolina, probably from a distributor. Sound possible?
Now, as for Amazon, yes they did add a huge load to UPS, FedEx and even USPS. I live 40 miles from the big city and as of a couple weeks ago Amazon is delivering their own packages and doing a great job so far. After Amazon pretty much destroyed the shipping industry as we know it, you really have to have patience. The last two rifles that were sent to me took over two weeks, and they broke the stock one one of them. It was packed in a hard case, inside of another cardboard box.
Yes, I do. Since it went from MN to NC with no tracking that means it was never scanned in by the FedEx driver.Ok. So you know that a label generated doesnt mean it was picked up the next day. Dont you ?
Probably not, but it should've been. The FedEx arrow should be a compass with an in motion pointer in your case. Where is it today?Ok. So you know that a label generated doesnt mean it was picked up the next day. Dont you ?

Not anymore!! UPS is laying off people left and right and offering buyouts to drivers anywhere near retirement!! My son works for them and is figuring on leaving as there is no track for advancement.now, as for Amazon, yes they did add a huge load to UPS, FedEx and even USPS. Now, with all that said, I do not like Fedex and avoid using them when shipping from here. The delivery people here are all contract employees working for an independent contractor who has leased a territory from FedEx (not to mention delivery vehicles) and, although some do, the majority don't really take the extra effort. That isn't a bottom-up issue but a top-down. Fedex doesn't care, the contractor doesn't care and the contracted delivery people don't care.
PVC tube is more expensive but really the best way to go
PVC caps have gone up in price for some reason
So I use a holesaw or something and cut wood block ends and screw them in

Having a barrel lost is very frustrating
Yeah I had a bunch of 3" black ABS leftover, so I use that usually for shipping a barrel if I dont have a decent box for itI use the caps at home for barrel stacking and storage, glued on one end. For shipping, I use a stack of corrugate and bubble wrap at the end before criss-crossing the nylon reinforced strapping tape many times over the opening and then a final wrap around the circumference securing those ends.
We had some heavy duty corrugated tubes at work that use some fluted metal ends that you had to drive inside the tube that worked a little too well. Our customers would complain that they couldn't remove them!
