Federal and Remington Ammo Companies Sold

I hope Uncle Don will straighten out all this foreign country taking dollars out of America.
Do mean countries that are making Lapua, Norma, Vihtavuori or even (Gasp!) Russian primers ?
Unka Don has promised to make all that foreign junk flooding our markets much more expensive…
That trolly load of ‘stuff’ from Walley Mart & CostlyCo that is 90% made in China is really going to soar in price…

The main problem with powder supply is the supply of Nitro Glycerin. China has a literal monopoly on the supply of nitro. A basic ingredient of smokeless powder. Nobody else wants to make it because it has nasty side effects.

Manufacturing and selling firearms and ammunition in the USA is problematic. Upside is we have the 2nd Amendment and a vibrant market of good people. Downside is we have runaway product liability lawsuits and awards and many 2A enemies in addition to the nut jobs with a brand new semi-auto. Foreign ownership of domestic manufacturing and marketing is one of the responses to these financial & legal attacks. Oh and I forgot to mention a recently corrupt national advocacy organization.

It is my understanding that Blackrock held a significant stake in Vista Outdoors which owned Federal and Remington ammunition companies. Blackrock is a very leftist-run fund and pressured Vista to distance itself from firearms-related companies.

it's the nitrocellulose (guncotton) not the nitroglycerine. Besides: Antimony
is the largest problem child we need from them pertaining to explosive's
manufacturing and other things. We did get some from Russia but not as
much as from China.

You don't know that.

No offense, but they could close all the factories and move them to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and there wouldn't be anything Americans could do about it.
And they could also make no money and throw everything in the toilet if they made that move.

I think it's safe to assume they will do what ever it takes to keep the company or their parent company churning out profits. So unless they bought Federal/Remington to sink a competitive brand, It doesn't take an MBA to predict that for now, production will remain in the US. Given the cost prohibitive fees and laws when ammo and components are imported. Companies buy companies to make more money. We can rely on that single fact.

I wonder if people would be saying these kinds of things if a couple of Chinese communist guys bought the company.

I imagine my response would be different if all the facts in the transaction were different. But they aren't.

It's funny, when I was growing up Czechoslovakia was part of the Soviet Union. I guess I don't have that short of a memory.

I can't imagine a world where the United States is selling off its infrastructure for manufacturing ammunition to foreign companies. I don't care who they are.

You gotta admit, the world and life was simpler during Cold War 1.0. Probably it’s just the kid coloured glasses, but let an old man have his nostalgic moments. ;)

do you guys happen to know who supplies most of the 556 and 7.62 ammo to military? the 270 fury I suppose will be made by Sig, but they will almost have to let US companies to make it under license to meet US military needs?
