Federal .223/5.56 cases - differences?

That data is old and no longer applicable.

I have thousands of pieces of both Lake City and Federal once fired brass that's in the 2011-2013 date range. The only difference is the headstamp. I've weight sorted thousands and both Federal and LC cases will weigh between 91 and 93 grains with most being 91-92.

It's possible to run into some that were fired in an M249 (SAW) which will need more TLC but the more reliable sellers steer clear of them. Shoot me a PM if you're interested and I'll give you the name of a guy on Gunbroker that sells really nice processed 5.56 brass for around 8 cents a piece if you buy a bunch. I've tried a lot of different sellers and wound up returning most of it. This guy's the best

I just picked up a couple of thousand new Lake City (Federal head stamp) brass from Midway. They are shooting well in my F-TR rifle.

Yeah, I'm a big Lapua fan, but we've got some Lake City brass singing sweet songs in one of the .223s we're working with. It's good stuff.

I would love to know where to get those and my email accounts are shut down right now do to someone using them or me being hacked!! Please let me know as I need some 5.56 or 223 brass right now. Thanks!!!

Here's a link to the last lot I bought. A bit more expensive than the price I got on an earlier lot of 2,500. Looks like he's out of fully processed at the moment but you could send him a question through Gunbroker. I uniform the primer pockets, chamfer the necks and run a 0.223" expander in just because I'm fussy. They are squeaky clean and +/- a thousandth in length.
