Ran out of Federal Large Rifle primers,so did Sportsmens Warehouse here in Reno. So I bought W-W LR . With Fed its my known coyote load . I wonder if any difference with W-W primers ?
I think your going to find out!Ran out of Federal Large Rifle primers,so did Sportsmens Warehouse here in Reno. So I bought W-W LR . With Fed its my known coyote load . I wonder if any difference with W-W primers ?
I think the reason you saw the increase in velocity was due to the fact that Win. primers were designed to reliably ignite Winchester BALL powders. Ball powders create a very dense load inside the walls of a cartridge. This dense load needs some real fire to reliably and consistently ignite that densely loaded powder.I did a side-by-side test between Fed. 210Ms, CCI BR2s and Winchester LR primers in a 30-06/180s/Reloader 22 powder. The Feds and CCIs gave identical velocity and I could not see a difference in accuracy. The Winchester primers showed about 30 fps greater velocity with accuracy very nearly the same. Any difference I chaulked up to chance.

I am trying out 1000 of the S&B right now and so far I am liking the results.
