Fclass Spotting scope stand

Any thoughts from users on whether they like the Giraud stand or the Ray Vin stand better while shooting prone? They both look well made and both seem adequate for using while shooting FTR. They are roughly the same price but any reason I should go with one over the other?

Scope will be a Konus used for mirage reading

I am new to the forum so this is my first post.
I agree with Steve.
Either would be stable at prone levels. I have a Giraud that I bought years ago for High Power and now F Class.
It has served me well.

The head on my Giraud does not swivel in order to turn the scope into the mirage. What I seen guys do in the past was put a rubber o ring and a washer on the leg below the head to keep it in place when they loosen the friction knob and turn the head to see the mirage.

Giraud stand with either the Creedmoor Polecat Head or the Ray-Vin style head.
Doug will sell just the stand without the head.

Polecat is way easier to adjust than about any other head I have tried. The Polecat offset is good enough that you don't need to spend the extra $129 for the Outrigger with the Ray Vin.

Adjusting the Ray Vin head is like trying to screw an alligator on a wet log compared the Polecat. Two fingers to adjust the Polecat and it stays where you put it.

Anyone know how the Polecat compares to the Elieso head with regard to offset?

Ive got the Ray Vin head, and Im either looking to buy the outrigger, or a head with better offfset.

Here's what mine looks like with Ray-Vin F-Class stand, Eliseo head and Nikon Fieldscope 82ED.

That would make for an interesting evening. :o

You shouldn't question the voice of experience. Lol

That's a keeper! I'm putting that phrase in my file along with "slicker than a minnows member". Lol

Any other thought on polecat head vs ray Vin head?

Will be using a Konus 80mm scope for FTR

I have a 100mm Konus on my Pole Cat. No issues and my front rest is pretty large. This is the best pic I have with my 14yo son taking the line at 1000yds. Just a turn of the head and you are looking through the spotting scope.
