Interesting points. I see what you mean regarding distance and usage. I used to shoot the 1500 and you could see the bullets arcing in the right light. Definitely not flat at probably half the velocity of your 357 Sig. I can imagine even with body armour that's going to hurt!

That's part of the equation, the hit on the armor can be distracting to devastating but follow up to edges of the armor hits critical anatomy.

I learned years ago that when confronted with body armor, you have a better chance to win if you aim lower, not higher.
While I'm sure there must be a man that can take 2-3 rounds into his his crotch without stopping the attack and wondering how fast he can get to the nearest hospital, but I have yet to read about it.

I hated the 9mm in the military. I carried a 45. Id trade em both for a shotgun which i carried a lot on armory guard duty and it was an attention gitter.
I carry a small 40 with 160-180 gr most of the time. My open carry is a 45 Super
