Favorite general purpose .223 loads

Well I already have special loads worked up and all for each rifle and purpose, but again this is just just basically all purpose ammo just to have on had for whatever. Something better then bulk but nothing optimized or whatever.
But yeah both bolt and semi auto but about every thing I shoot runs off of AR mags, at least in 5.55/.223. Don't think we have anything slower then a 9 twist , mainly 1-7/1-8 .
I was considering the Vmaxs but honestly not sure how they would far on bigger game due to the fact their varmit bullets.then again we head or neck shit about everything so in that case that explosive ness might do good
They are fine on groundhogs, foxes, and coyotes but I definitely would not use them on deer.

Actually really enjoying these ! Picked a bag of 500 a month again and they shoot about MOA or less in everything which keeps me pretty happy . Just been trying to find someone who's actually used them on game to talk to but cant. Not gonna lie though was worried the 69gr might be a little much for a lil purpose round , in the fact that the 1-9's might not like them
Thats great. Great price and theyve grouped well enough, I just have yet to use on a yote yet. Been meaning to just find myself pulling the swift or 204 for them. One day I will. If you have any questions you should call Jake, the owner of RMR and he'll answer any questions about the bullets. His number is at the bottom of their website I believe.

Forgot to mention as far as game talking deer and hog sized animals and down. We're in South West Ms and it's perfectly legal and daily common
Also Jake would tell you he's had customers say good things about the 69s and pigs

Don't think fmj is the best thing for deer and pig though lol
You’re right they’re not for pigs and deer but you originally just mentioned plinking and varmints. Varmints around my place are coyotes, raccoons, and an occasional fox. FMJ’s work just fine in that situation.

-1 for Hornady BTSP, pick em up in bulk and you can find them super cheap. Mid south shooter supply often has a deal.
.BLC(2) is a great generic powder, as is WC846.

I don't hunt. I do load for 3 ARs, a Rem 700, and a Weatherby Vanguard, all in .223. Twists are 7, 8, 12, & 14. They all shoot well with 55 VMax or Varmageddon, 25.1 H335, Rem 7 1/2 & Winchester cases. Total confidence that should I ever get the chance to go prairie dog shooting all these rifles would turn the critters into acrobats out to any reasonable range.

Hornady 55 gr BTSPs are about as generic as one can get and work well across the board. 1,000 can be had for $109.
This one. They blow up varmints good. A little tougher for those big yotes. I have taken a pile of jacks, chucks, and yotes. I have read they perform ok on hogs and deer too since they are a bit tougher. No experience with anything bigger than yotes myself though. Cheap for plinking.

I got blem "poly tip" 50 gr from midway for a similar price. They look like vmax to me and shoot crazy good consistently .5 moa with rem 7.5 and xterminator. Xterminator is also cheap and works great. I think the tougher sp is better on yotes if you hit a bone though.

I can get 3/4 moa out of my full stocked cz 527 in 223 with the hornady bulk 55gr BTSP. Pick your favorite mid burning powder and make a load around 2900fps. H335, 4895, TAC, SW match rifle, Benchmark and a dozen other powders.

Back when these bullets were 7 cents each, I filled up 3.5 coffee cans full of these loads using SW Match Rifle.

This round also does great in the AR. Both standard carbine and my MK12-ish clone.

You really cannot beat the price point, utility and accuracy of the load. And the load is deadly on anything you shoot it with. Meaning the animal will die. You might not recover the yotes every single time, but this isn't a specialized fur hunting load. It's a get outta my chicken coop load.
