Fat Fingers

What do you do? I have a CZ457 MTR and with a single feed insert it takes forever to insert a bullet with my fat fingers. Small opening, tight chamber, and tryng to ram the bullet in using the bolt causes problems. Works fine with the mag, but may want to shoot a match which requires single feed.

Op stated in the thread opener he already has a single feed insert. Perhaps Nolan's single feed insert is better, don't know. I do know I have a Nolan single feed for Rem 581/541 and it works fine. I also know adapting to circumstance can work quite well too. I always have a small pocket clip screwdriver on me when shooting RFBR matches. If the op's current single feed is not working to his expectations as far as feeding goes, a simple push on the back of the cartridge to ease it into the chamber before bolt close could solve the issue of his 'fat fingers'. Before anyone flames me on this, consider the fact that many years ago when Time actions were being used in Big Time RFBR they had no extractors and shooters had to pluck the empties out of the rifle for the next round to be loaded! Using a tool to facilitate loading into the chamber will be MUCH easier than the Time restrictions in extracting. Just a thought.

Have you tried something like this? He sells them on the hide, here and Ebay.
He lists them for vudoo but they work for any single feed.
