Question on setting up a repeater 700 to single feed

Hello

I have a 700 short action repeater. Wanting to set it up in a stock with no mag well cut. I looked at the single shot followers. But the description on them is to insert them in the mag box. Which I do not have.

So looking for ways folks have accomplished this. As it sits the rounds do feed, but kind of nose up at end. Need a way to get the round lifted

Thanks

I've seen glue in jobs on the action. Which would be ideal but have not seen a place to purchase them

Check out Sinclairs single shot follower it's supposed to be glued to the bottom of the receiver . It works very well.

Check out Gtr's single shot follower. It will fill your cut out and there rounded to fit the action nice.

crude by it worked, I took a piece of 2x4 the length of the well, shaved the sides to allow it to drop in then took a wood carving chisel and created the drop in slot, works like a dream.

ugly!!!! cheep

brownell's/sinclair bith sell a single shot follower similar the the one in the pic...glue(two part epoxy) in place.

they work well ..i just put one in a rifle

I searched both sites, finally found them. They are calling them a loading ramp, Davidson I believe. Was not coming up on my "follower" searches

but it looks like it will do the trick

There are a couple different single shot blocks. Jkohler's picture above is the kind that works really well. The fit is pretty close as is. If the fit is snug with no play, use crazy glue or locktite. If there's any slack, a two part adhesive can be used....but that's not really necessary, I'll use a strip of masking tape along the sides to where it's a snug press fit. You just want it in there firmly to where it doesn't move. I have guns with blocks held in by all those methods and they all work fine.

Pretty much any of them will work all you have to do is to epoxy/glue it to the bottom of the action where the box would normally fit in. I have one that I did that way. All you need is something to hold the bullet up in line with the breach.

actually in my case the slip in the mag box style did not work as well as the clue in shown above.
i like the style shown above...the round enters the chamber without banging into things.
