Farley Co-ax II lube ??

I tested many greases in mine, the best was moly-graph. It was much smoother than anything else I tried. I called Farley and let them know about it as well.

The 2 Farley sliding plates only touch each other at the 2 dowel rods. The front sliding plate rubs against the front housing. If you take it apart, clean it and stick UHMW tape on the front sliding plate. I use synthetic bicycle racing lube. Put it on the tape and the 2 dowel rods. If you don't have them yet, it would be a great time to install Shadetree Engineering tension screws with the delrin bushings to replace the ball plungers. Done right will give you a very smooth rest top.

You mean the plate touches the guide rail bolted on the bottom? Mine only touches that and the shadetree tension screws- it doesnt touch the front. On the backside it only touches the dowel pins. Grease the pins, where the tension screws touch, and the guide bar underneath.

Dusty, the sliding plate closer to the target rubs against the housing that holds the front bearing that the handle pivots in. The rear sliding plate does slide in the lower plate. It is there to keep the rear sliding plate from cocking up and down.

mine came with an extra set of the shadetree tension screws,,it was also set up left handed and I switched it over to right handed and only took it apart and reassembled it,,I have used it a lot over the last 18 months and think it might need cleaned and put the new set of tension screws on and wondered what the best lube would be,,

thanx for the tips again,,
