The rifle in the article does not have carbon fiber, but based on actual testing that is not a problem. Score rifles are mostly 13.5# and that provides more latitude as to material selection and stock weight. On the other hand when you are building a 10.5# rifle, those stocks benefit from light wood and slimmer designs that would need carbon fiber to maintain stiffness, particularly with the longer forends that have become the norm.
