I would think a Mack Bros action with a Urban rifleman prefit barrel would be a better choice. Then choose exactly the type of trigger and stock that would fit the shooter best.I never realized the Savage 6BR was so expensive.

I was able to buy one, around 2013 I think, for under $600 new. I believe that the price was a mistake on the dealers website since the retail price at the time was around $1200, but surprisingly they honored it. It was a good shooter, and after a couple of years I sold it a friend for a little less than what I paid. He shot it in a few long range 600 yard benchrest matches.... and it now has a Criterion barrel also chambered in 6BR.I never realized the Savage 6BR was so expensive.

Forum Boss: The price has increased significantly. A member of our range got one many years ago for under $800.00. It had unexplained flyers. He sent the original barrel back to Savage and they replaced it, and the gun was pretty consistent 1/2 MOA with the second factory barrel. With an premium aftermarket barrel these things were good enough to win local matches. I like the fact you have a choice between a flat-run "F-Class" stock and the slight angled "Benchrest" stock. Match the angle to your bag.
This article shows one of the Savage 6mmBR rifles:

Savage offers it in the model 12 benchrest and Fclass rifles. They shoot amazingI quick look at the Savage site didn't turn one up. Does anyone make a NIB in 6mmbr Norma or similar ?

For 2k I think you could be really close with a Mack Bro or Kauger and one of brads barrels and stocks…maybe a touch cheaper going that route but I would have to do mathThe thread title was “factory” 6br rifle.
I’m a Savage guy but I definitely agree that what you suggest is a much better/nicer option, but also not “factory” and not nearly in the same price range.
Op, you plan to shoot in a factory class, or just want a factory rifle? Or just curious?
Definitely a better option if a factory rifle isn’t necessary for sure. For 2k I think you could be really close with a Mack Bro or Kauger and one of brads barrels and stocks…maybe a touch cheaper going that route but I would have to do math
