F-T/R vs Fullbore??

Can someone explain the difference between the NRA National Records on High Power Rifle Long Range F-T/R Class and the Individual Fullbore Prone F-Class?

The difference is in Fullbore there is bullet weight restrictions, for the 308 the limit is 156 grains, for the 223 the limit is 92 grains. In high power F-TR there is no bullet weigh restrictions.

in FULLBORE, you usually fire 2 or more to the target!!

HOWEVER, when the rules were written in the US, string fire was OK'd for FULLBORE - at the MATCH DIRECTORS choice-

i don't know about 3,5,600 yd, but the 8,9 and 1000 records[both f-t/r & f-open were set firing 2 to the mound!

FWIW i don't know what will happen when a "stringiee' sets a 'FULLBORE' RECORD. i can't see any 'self-respecting' shooter claiming a record.

personnally, i think the rule should be changed. OR WHY HAVE A FULLBORE CAT. IF YOUR SHOOTING LIKE HIGHPOWER - EH, HIGH POWER COMMITTEE???

RON >:(

Hey Ron,
There ain't no requirement to shoot 2 or 3 to the mound in the USA. You've been shooting too much in Canada.......or maybe England (hehe)..

But what the heck, I'll pair fire with you anytime!.

Jerry

I was thinking that they were listed under both so F-Class could be fired during either and not making it so difficult to find an NRA match that shoots F-Class.

JERRY AND MIKE,

that's what i said, 'string' fire at the direction of the MD. according to the gent who put it in - because in US folks aren't finiliar with shooting 2 or 3 to the mound.

TELL ME FOLKS, do they shoot string fire at SPIRIT OF AMERICA matches? if not why not - if it's the same??

when are we going to get our 2 ends wired together?

why do we have a dual standard in f- class?? [i know - 'dark side', yada, yada.]

mike - that was not the reason

F'ERS - if you want to shoot 'true fullbore' come up to the north west and shoot the PNW INTERNATIONAL F-CLASS FULLBORE MATCHES.
