F Open with fixed 36 power scope

Anybody shoot a fixed power scope in F class? If so, which one, and would you recommend it or a variable?

Thanks in advance.

Search feature has a lot of articles on 36x scopes I am sure. Weaver T36 from what I have read and a couple shooters I shoot with have them and I have looked through them. They are good for the $. Me personally I like adjustable power scopes. And I like the most power I can get

Leupold BRD 36x. Also use Sightron 8-32 and NF NXS 12-42, the last two don't get adjusted below 32 or 38 or so, the NF gets a bit dark at 42x. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the three, although if you're starting out, a variable would allow you to wind down the power in heavy mirage to clean up the sight picture until you get used to shooting through it at full magnification.

I wouldn't hesitate to use a fix power 40X scope such as March in F-Class, myself. Of course if I have to, for instance to make weight.

seb.

I shoot F open with a Weaver T36, on a Savage Model 12, no complaints whatsoever. Our range goes to 600 yards, no further. One of our best shooters is a firm believer in the T36, he has four of them mounted on Savages, would rather have the selection of several factory ready rifles as opposed to one very expensive custom built with expensive variable scope. Doesn't seem to slow him down one bit, consistently high scores.

Hah, that's pretty good. I shoot a fixed 45X scope. It's a March 10-60. I just bought a second March, fixed 40X to see how I like it. I've owned the 10-60 for 3 years now. I find that I like the *idea* of a variable, more than I actually use it in competition.
