F open Front rest

as I am gathering components for a F open build it occurs to me that I need a good front rest so I am looking for suggestions
i have been thinking about a seb mini but would that be heavy enough?

I have a JJ Loh so plan to try that. anyone know the thread pitch on the legs on that? need to order some feet for it.

They are not all the same.
Mine is fine thread 1/2”, my buddies are 3/8” I think.
The JJ rest is a quality rest, and works well for f-class. I am very pleased with my set-up.
Having said that, the SEB Mini is a Dandy!

Edit
I just checked my rest, it’s 1/2 20

Call JJ, he makes an aluminum base that the rest sits on rather than useing feet. It works pretty well.

Thanks guys. And CW thanks for measuring yours. It is a hike to the nearest hardware store but that would be the best way to verify.

If you measure the outside dia and post a pic of it i bet i can tell you what thread it is.
thanks looks like it is going to be 1/2 x 20. the rear speed screw however is not threaded underneath. this is probably why he sells a plate instead of feet. Is yours that way CW? thanks Dusty.

Mine was 1/2-20 i sold to james gregory on here. That speed screw one is different than the rest of them. Itll probably have to have a thread insert adapter made if i remember right- but it is threaded

I made some legs from 1/2 20 all thread
I try to keep my rest as low to the ground as possible, the block of 3/4 oak for the speed screw works great.
