F Class Question

You’d have to put me in a straight jacket to get me to shoot that!

oh....wait....that’s kinda how it works, isn’t it? :D:D:D

You betcha...I did that for many years...there is not much difference between a "cordura hardback" and a "straight jacket" 'ceptin' you have arms free (sorta?)
in the cordura!!!:oops::oops::oops:

Again thanks for all the input and ideas. I'll relay the info to him when I see him next week. I recommended that he join this Forum but he doesn't have computer.

I believe my friend's intent was to stimulate some "practical rifle" friendly competition. There are no serious F Class shooters at the club that I'm aware of and I spend 2 days a week at the rifle range shooting off my cross sticks which is my version of practical shooting since I hunt varmints and predators.

Again the range is limited to 200 yards at this club and 95% of the shooters I see at the club have enough trouble at that distance off the bench let alone off a bipod and prone. Probably would work better at this club to structure the "fun" matches off the bench with a bipod rather than prone.

F-Class is a Koolaid you guys do not want to start drinking. Name your matches anything else. F-Class is zombie potion. It’ll make your barrels fat and your wallets thin. You’ll look around at the good folks that shoot it with you and secretly swear, dang it surely I’m as smart as such and such is. But, the targets tell no lies.

Sound advice.:) I guess he equates shooting prone off a bipod to "F" Class competition. I'm sorry I got involved.:rolleyes: I'm just a simple ground hog and predator hunter and that's addicting enough - just ask my wife. I got fat barrels and thin wallets too.:rolleyes:

Have him try Highpower Rifle. It can be shot at short range.
The CMP has some interesting "specialty" matches. I've been trying to organize a CMP "Vintage Military Rifle" match at a club with available ranges limited to 100 yds. This match is limited to as-issued M1 Rifle, M1 Carbine and bolt-action military rifles. This is an effort to have collectors dust off their rifles and it gets away from some of the gamesmanship of NRA matches.
