f class at 600 yards and can’t see the target just a blob

Hi
Over the weekend shot a 600yd match in terrible conditions. On the second and third strings, just a black blob with nothing to point the gun at, just a guess we’re the center was. I was down to 10 power and my score suffered How do you deal with this condition?

Are you saying the mirage was that bad, or heavy snow, or something else?
 
I don’t try to make wind holds in that condition. Just center up and click for wind. If your reticle has hash marks you can use those to center up the black circle. Also having a rifle stock and rest set up that tracks well is important here. If you can be confident that your rifle is returning to 0 then that helps. Just trust the tracking over the scope in that scenario.

Yes there scores suffered as well I just think there was a lot of nines I could have avoided

my score was 582-26x off first by 2 points

I've shot Blanding a lot. I shoot .223 at 600 in FTR. I also use a Golden Eagle. My last shoot there was December of 2020, shot HM scores that day and was able to stay on 60x for all 3 relays. That was a first. I've never lost the lines on the target but have come close. I think the farthest I've backed down has been just below 30x. Maybe a scope issue? Just a guess here and a suggestion to double check it. Covid and other things kept me from there last year. I may shoot Valdosta coming up.
