EYE RELIEF????????????????????????

is there a process I can use to get a good eye relief??? I had a Savage 110 years ago that I bought used and never touched the scope, perfect eye relief! fast forward to now 30-06 rem on a KRG Bravo chassis with a Vortex Razor, I'm built like Herman Munster, so I have High Vortex mounts, twist my head around the gun and I can hit the target pretty good, watched you tube vids, but just don't seem to be able to get it right? HELP!

If it is eye relief related to the distance between scope and eye, loosen the rings on the scope and with your head in a natural position, move the scope back and forth while looking through it. You want a clear view through the scope with only a thin sliver visible around the view through the lens. Focus and parallax will change, of course, and have to be readjusted.
If it is a problem with scope height, you will need to experiment with varying ring heights.

Also have the scope at the highest magnification when doing this.

When setting up target iron sights, you get in position with no sights, then when you are all good have someone else put the sights where they fit you. I have done the same process with a scope

To get proper eye relief when mounting a scope I get it close to where I believe I need it with the rings loose. Then I shoulder the rifle with my eyes closed, get the rifle comfortable with muscle memory and open my eyes. I then move the scope to where my eyes tell me and lightly tighten one scope ring and then go through shouldering it with eyes closed/look through the scope until I'm satisfied. At this point I mark the scope tube with a #2 pencil at the edge of the rings and proceed to level the scope/reticle. The ring screws and threaded holes have already been cleaned with 90% iso alcohol and are ready for blue locktite. This has been my method for probably 30 years on all my stuff and some friend's weapons. It works for us. YMMV.
