Eye Relief for F/TR newbie (GE vs NF Comp)

Just starting F/TR, both MR & LR. I have a new rifle coming soon that needs a 30oz or lighter scope and I'm obsessing about eye relief. My intention is to use 200.20x Bergers for the 1000yd matches and I opted for a RAD2 to help tame the recoil. That being the case, I also expect the scope to travel backwards a little more due to the RAD2. How much consideration should I be giving to the extra eye relief of the GE over the Comp? I'm leaning towards the Comp for the slight weight advantage and optical performance, but I wouldn't want to bump into trouble with the shorter eye relief the NF comp is known for. 3.2" vs 3.9" seems like a pretty significant difference on paper. Any advice appreciated.

My FTR rifle shooting 200.20x also uses a RAD, but I use a march 8-80. So that brings my eye fairly close to the scope at 80x. Its never been a problem. This probably isn't terribly helpful, but
my advice is dont worry about it. If you like the NF glass, I would go with that and not be concerned about eye relief causing you problems.

Between the rings and the base, you should have enough room to adjust either scope for the proper eye relief. I shoot both and occasionally move them between two rifles without any issue.

Thanks Mojo, it is helpful to know when others are using this configuration without issue. I watched a V2 FTR finale video (Ian Klemm vs Kieth Trapp) and it was interesting. Ian's rifle looked like it was anchored to a tree stump and moved mainly vertically and not much horizontally. Keith's rifle looked like he was shooting almost free-recoil and using every millimeter of eye relief he had! My prone style so far has been closer to Ian's, so I think I will take your advice and not worry about it.

The NF Comp has plenty of eye relief for a TR rifle with a RAD and heavy bullets. There's a huge difference in optic quality between the two. Go with the NF.

THIS ^^^^^^
The 12-42 is an amazing scope--Buy from Old Dominion Custom Rifles in VA a member here and save hundreds $$ resale is close to new price--I have two and have never ever had any issue with eye relief
The DD reticle is a gift to shooters
GE is Dark on higher power--

I never had a problem with either one. I prefer the NF, the glass is a little brighter and clearer. It is also lighter weight. Not a thing wrong with the Vortex other than it lacks zero-stop.

There must be a big variance Vortex quality control. The Vortex GE I have optically is a dog compared to my 3 NF Comps which are all very consistent to each other.

What I've seen with my Vortexes is that if you turn both scopes to 40x or 50x the NF just seems a bit brighter. The Vortex get VERY DARK when you approach 60x. But the NF doesn't go that high so its kind of an unfair comparison. You can win with either one, though.

My V GE has considerably less resolution than my NF Comps. You can definitely win with either. A good friend that uses a GE and myself w either a NF Comp or Kahles 1050 are at about 50/50 on who wins for the day..

I have 2 Vortex GE's 20-60X. Like said above, anything above 40X is useless. Darkens up and if you got mirage forget it.

Now what I do like about the GE's is the reticle. Super fine and can easily see the X ring at 1000 yds.

Great suggestions from everyone. Thanks! I have a NF Comp DDR2 coming in a few days. Looking forward to using it very soon.
