Extended handle for shadetree rest top

I just got a shadetree top and want to extend the handle. Does anyone know if the plastic knob is threaded on and what size thread is it? I did not want to bother butch with this if i did not have to. I haven't tried to take it off yet did not want to tear it up.

I don't have an answer to your specific question as i used mine as-is without issue. But I will say enjoy the unit it's an awesome value. I replaced mine with a SEB Mini. It's a great unit and superior in adjustability, but from a joystick
responsiveness standpoint, I preferred the Shadetree.

I've done what you're talking about on the couple of shade trees I've owned over the last several years. Mine were both threaded 1/4-20. I dont remember the length but around 1/2". I just made aluminum knobs that were about 2.5" long and put them on where the standard round ball came off.

I extended mine with a length of alloy tube, ID the same as the original shaft OD. I am pretty sure the original knob is threaded 1/4" UNC. I just found a bolt that was the right size in my scrap bin, and epoxied it in the end of the alloy tube. Total extension is around 3"
Works a treat, i shoot fclass and my hand now rests on the ground closer to me rather than having a sandbag under my front hand.

Thanks for the help. I took it to work and pulled the handle off it is 1/4×20. I will use a double nut and piece of all thread for now to find what length I want before I make something nicer.

I used a 3in. extender from HomeDepot They come sized every 1/2 in. Hope that will help Tommy Mc About a buck fifety.
