Exporting brass?

I'm in real need of some Lapua .284 brass. Last two boxes came from Reloading International who exported it here to New Zealand without hassle but they currently have none in stock.

Is anyone aware of an outfit that is able to do the same? There are three sellers who currently list the brass but don't offer foreign shipping.

Thanks for looking.

Yes, I saw your profile. I grew up in the Bay. (Hastings Boys' High.) Another option is to ship to me and I can post from here. Happy to help a fellow Kiwi, especially one from the Bay. But I think you'll find the likes of Powder Valley helpful if you call them. Let me know if you need my help - it will be no trouble - and congrats on making team NZ!

When lived overseas, getting shooting things shipped to me was always a pita. I found the best was to buy and have shipped to a friend and then he would strip and consolidate into smaller package. Save a bunch on international freight, and of course on import duty with creative invoicing.

wrong
cartridge brass is an export controlled commodity
it aint that easy
That is my understanding too. Reloading components are restricted as are gun parts, but if I'm not mistaken reloading equipment is not.
Brownell's use to state on their site that gun parts with a value of less then $100.00 could be exported without a license, but that no longer seems to be the case.

The boss has a weekly special at creedmoor sports for lapua 284 brass contact them and see if they can ship. How this works for you

Personally I wouldn't do it. Even if it is legal, these days they open almost everything going international, so I wouldn't want to have brass being opened by anyone related to the current admin. I lived in Japan for 5 years and I feel sorry for anyone in foreign countries, but I'm up to my armpits and trying to fend off the 'gators in America. I don't even want to pay hazmat for powders and primers. Can we trust we won't be put on some list for transporting powder or primers? I just heard the President claims how deadly 9mm bullets are and there's a bill to register anything as deadly as 9mm that can puncture a lung! Can you imagine that?

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, but I'm more sure for you than I am for me.

And I should add, I do have a lot of experience with international shipping, and Australia is always one of the more difficult. I see the OP is in NZ, and I don't know too much about NZ, but AU is one of those upside down thinking countries in regard to firearms. Can you purchase directly from Lapua? I would think it best to keep America out of it if you can...just sayin'...

You're just shooting the wrong caliber Chris! Walk towards the light, slip on a nice comfy jacket, lie down and breath.

If you want to import brass and projectiles into NSW, Australia its just a matter of getting a B709 import permit. This form is rarely denied, the hardest part is finding someone in the USA who will export those items. I cant speak for other Australian states.

Interesting but this isn't Aussie. It's no problem to get a permit here, not that I bothered last time and they came straight through. But as you said, it's getting the stuff out of the US that's the issue. Stoopidest thing is this brass is Euro-made and available ( I use that term loosely..) all over the world.
