Expanding .308

What method do you use to expand a .308 after full length resizing? What kind and size of expander do you use?

I usually let the button on the decapping rod do that.

I use expander mandrels after using a non-bushing FL sizing die with expander ball.

What kind and size of expander do you use?

Size depends on the brass used due to differences in neck wall thickness to get the neck tension I'm after. I use a Sinclair expander mandrel and have a set of 21st Century expander mandrels.

When I shot and loaded the 308, I use a standard F/L die expander ball that had been polished to a "smooth glass like" condition.

I FL size the brass, with bushing, no expander ball. Later, after trimming, chamfer, deburring, I use a 21st century expander die with the appropriate size mandrel.
