Expander Ball Location

For my 6XC precision target rounds I use a Redding FL type "S" bushing die without the expander ball and then run the case into the Sinclair Generation II expander. Works like a charm

Using Redding Type "S" dies along with the Sinclair expander seems to be a popular combination. Do you think there would be any reason why I couldn't use the Sinclair expander after resizing with a standard sizer die (expander ball removed) and get decent results?

I understand it will work harden the brass a little more than if I had used a Type S with bushings but I think it would work pretty well.

Should work fine. I also anneal after every firing.

I liked the Forster die so much that for some calibers that i have Reddig and RCBS dies i started to modify them to put the expander ball high. You will have to decap in a seperate operation but thatsno big deal. Just thread the expander mandrel up high and decap in another operation.
