EU shooters please read - they want to ban your military looking rifles

Shooter's in the EU need to be aware that the EU are not only trying to ban lead. Through proposed changes to the firearms directive they also intend to ban semi auto rifles that look like anything military.

Simply put, the EU want to be seen to take action in response to the rise in terrorist attacks in Europe and the easiest thing they can think of to do is to hit legal firearms owners (ironically the same people that are statistically least likely to commit violent crime let alone acts of terrorism).

Some of the proposed changes to the Firearms directive do indeed make sense, however, some will have a major detrimental impact on shooting in the EU whilst having zero impact on reducing terrorism and crime.

Most significantly though the banning of section B7 firearms will be one more step down the road to banning all firearms. Once military looking semi-auto's are banned it will be military looking bolt actions, then semi auto shotguns, and on and on until the only firearms owned are those in the hands of criminals and terrorists.

Okay, so ATF-41P is heating up again. After being pushed back to December 2015, the ATF just published another date for final action. But instead of pushing it back for another 6mo, they only pushed final action date back 30 days to January 2016.

Joshua Prince, of the Firearms Industry Consulting Group, has spearheaded opposition to ATF-41P. He published a Blog updating the latest on ATF-41P.

So, the first thing you should be aware of is that it is likely that forms that have been submitted are going to be processed under the pre ATF-41P rules.

So get your trust and submit your forms.

The most likely date that will determine whether your form is processed under the current or the ATF-41P rules is the date the aTF receives the forms.

The one bright light in this is that the ATF will need funding to implement ATF-41P. Congress can defund it. One budget amendment has been prosed that will do just that.

Immediately contact their U.S. Senator and demand that they approve H.R. 2578 – Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2016, without amendment.

Please forward this and let your friends know about ATF-41P and ask them to contact their congress critters!

This amendment to the Budget is VERY IMPORTANT TO US. It includes a provision that prohibits the ATF from utilizing any of the appropriated money for implementing a rule requiring a Chief Law Enforcement Officer signature(e.g. ATF-41P).

Restoration of Gun Rights:
On an interesting side note, it also includes a provision providing for the funding of federal firearms relief, which has not been available since 1992. This lets anyone who is now a prohibited person, but has lead a trouble free life since becoming a prohibited person, attempt to restore their 2nd amendment rights.

In Australia in some states they can outlaw your bolt action rifle if it looks vaguely military or tactical. Things are screwed up here...

I'll just plain out say it,, "civil war is coming to a country near you.." Theirs just to many have and have nots these days.. It will really ramp up when governments scare the left into surrendering their rights and the sad thing is the "right, older white crowd" is bad about given up their liberties also for the sake of "so called patriotism.." Just look at the "Patriot Act.."

This is only the beginning if successful they will outlaw other firearms in due course,this terrorist attack is being exploited to restrict freedoms to the eu citizens.

Only if there are people who remember what freedom is still exist. Then it depends on how much they have to loose. The more you have to loose the less they will be willing to risk it.

I don't see one thing about the new rules that makes sense. It is a cheap attempt of riding the man made tragedy they were practicing the day of the event. Nobody has seen any evidence that these were not actors playing their role. I may be wrong but I believe they (govt) will do anything to sway public opinion. Look at the USA, it is now legal for the federal govt to have news outlets run propaganda storys with absolutely nothing but lies to sway opinion thanks to our esteemed president. If you don't belive what I say then look it up, its a fact. We are possibly facing nuclear war with Russia over one stupid air plane and all the EU or the USA are doing is trying to disarm us instead of finding a peaceful solution. We have a mad man in Russia about ready to incinerate 9 million folks in turkey. Over a lost jet when Russia went into Afghanistan and killed tens of thousands of afghan civilians unprovoked and now we are worrying about a jet. This whole thing is ludicrous and I hope the EU population says NO.

I wouldn't describe Putin as a madman. He defined a clear course of action in combating terrorists and the countries that sponsor them. Certainly their forces have been effective in Syria that's for sure.
