Lead bullets ban in the EU is approaching

This seems a real thing this time. European Chemicals Agency published 2 months ago a proposal to further restrict the use of lead in hunting and sporting ammo. In simple terms, the proposed restriction is the following:

Lead in hunting, sports shooting and other outdoor shooting:
  • sale and use of lead gunshot: ban after a five-year transition period. As current Olympic rules specify the use of lead ammunition for certain disciplines, the proposal includes - as an option for the decision maker - a derogation for use of lead gunshot for sports shooting by licensed individuals only under strict conditions, i.e. when releases to the environment are minimised.
  • use of lead in bullets and other projectiles:
    • for hunting: ban after a five-year transition period for small calibre bullets and after 18 months for large calibre bullets.
    • for sports shooting: use can continue if releases to the environment are minimised, i.e. when sports shooting ranges are equipped either with trap chambers or ‘best practice’ sand traps five years after entry into force.

    • What the EU recommends to use instead of lead ammo?

"Bismuth or tungsten-based gunshot can also be used as alternatives to lead gunshot. They can be used in any shotgun, including vintage shotguns that may not be suitable for use with steel gunshot. Bismuth and tungsten-based gunshot cartridges are currently about four to five times more expensive than lead gunshot cartridges."

Expense is sadly a very real problem. Our national match (Norway) is held in my town this year, attendance is a record low 2703 shooters, lowest in 46 years if I remember the numbers correctly.
The youth class only has 400-450 shooters where the norm would be >1000. Which again means shooting as a sport will be much reduced in very few years.

This is all in the Realm of thinking of the Progressives, Ca. passed the lead ammo ban in the name of saving the Condors that were digesting lead bullets after eating a ground squirrel that had been shot.
NO STUDY to back up the law, of course the law passed and was enacted ahead of stated schedule.
Oppose said law if possible.
