EriK Cortina Reaches Posting Milestone

Looks like Erik Cortina today completed his 3000th of often helpful and sometimes stinging posts.

Maybe we can get Savage to honor Erik by naming a new Target Rifle after him.

Erik, thanks for the technical knowledge (non Savage) you add to this forum.

More likely they will come out with a new cortina target. Lol

Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are!
Cortina for President!

Sorry guys but we beat you to it. Here in the UK we decided to build a car called the Cortina in tribute to Erik and it was manufactured from 1962 to 1982 with a manual 4 speed gearbox and 2 engine sizes (1300cc and 1500cc). It became the best selling car in the UK in the 70s. So we appreciated him ahead of his time lol

We could have a contest! What would his number be without the negative Savage posts! ;D

Congratulations Erik and thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge on this site! ;)

Here's a picture Erik took during a tour of the Savage factory some years ago, that not only caught his attention, but was also the beginning of his doubts about their engineering ideas.

To be fair, this picture was taken in 2004, just after the World Series, with more than a few hardcore Red Sox fans being employed at Savage, including their QC manager. Supposedly this was before these parts were inspected for use in assembly. Supposedly.

Yeah, at least 1000 of those were anti Savage and Dasher.

But seriously, thanks for sharing your knowledge, you have been very helpful.

You guys shouldn't give Erik such a hard time. he's extremely knowledgeable, his opinions and thoughts are highly anticipated by everyone, they are extremely important to all of us, remember! And don't forget how nicely he conveyes them. And to top it off he gets .0000 run out on his chambers that's just remarkable, that has rarely been done in the past. I'm sure they are going to name shooting range after him, in fact I heard they are going to re-name camp Perry after him! Hahaha ;D

Erik,
I always thought you were full of bull, know I know you are!

Thanks for your posts, I've gleaned some good info out of them.

Maybe we should pitch in and buy him a coat so he won't freeze his a$$ off at the next match....

I have a PREMIUM LEATHER SAVAGE rifle sling that was sent to me as a gift from Savage after i had to send my Model 12 Benchrest back 3 times before they admitted it had a bad chamber. It would look great hanging in Erik's reloading room :P :P :P

Thank u for the great posts and some laughs also

...speaking for myself , I take what he says as "Been there done that" knowledge.. It's great to have a place where a person can get advice from such folks as that... He may come across to some as a bit gruff on certain topics but the fact is he's giving his honest opinion bases on his experience (and his credentials aren't by fluke lol.. Another fellow by the name of Boyd also brings alot of free knowledge here.

Not to mention he's a good sport when it comes to getting ribbed lol
