Enfield serial number dating?

Can anyone point me to a reference to decide what the serial number 79877 would.mean on a sporterized Enfield? Thanks, Matt.l1_rifles_trade_for_20_ga_920003~2.jpg

Dates were typically on the left side of the receiver with the model and plant they were built at. I can't find anything that would date it by serial alone.

The right side of the receiver ring that the stock attaches to is usually dated. All mine are. Perhaps yours was scrubbed.

There was/is a guy maybe ‘Bigedp51’,but that may be wrong, who seemed to know everything about Enfields.
Someone should know who I’m talking about.

This is mine before it was a custom. It was an unused receiver and the serial number is higher than I have found recorded.
