Endoscope length options

Thinking about getting one of these now that they will work on an Iphone, I notice that they come in 3, 6 or 15 foot lengths. Obviously the 3 foot would be optimal for gunwork but I'm kicking around the idea of getting the 15 footer. Not sure that I'd ever need 15 feet of cable but when working on a firearm you only need to uncoil 30 inches or so and there's only 10 bucks difference in price. What say you?

3' is too short unless the connection to your display is wireless - you need some slack so you can see the display while manipulating the borescope in the barrel. I would consider 6' the minimum length for a cabled connection. If you have one with a wi-fi connection 3' would work well, and any extra length would be a nuisance.

The scope part of mine is 3' with a cable 4' or so going to the computer.
The manual warns of damage by coiling these too tightly so mine is stored uncoiled in a rack on the wall, along with my cleaning rods.
Seems to me, the longer the fiber optic section is, the greater the chance of damage which renders the whole thing useless.
