Why can't I use them in my posts? Is there something turned off somewhere?

I think you can pick them up with those three vertical dots right of the picture frame image.

Are you clicking on the "Smilies" drop down on the toolbar?

No, I am sitting at my desk top Windows based, and yes after tool bar drops I click on the smiley.

Thanks to newbie shooter, he got me straightened out.

1. find that your menus (like the emoji icon) are disabled?



2. select the 3 right-most vertical dots to bring up the "more options" menu




3. notice the [] is the only menu option enabled. This is the toggle bb code option:



4. Click the [] menu to toggle it. You'll see the other menu options become 'enabled'...




5. now go back and try the 3 vertical dots in the middle and see if the emoji menu option is enabled - it should be. Select the emoji icon to bring up the emoji selection box:
