Ely test range is moving to Georgia.

When talking to Killough,s this morning I was told the test range is moving to Georgia.

A couple weeks ago at ARA Indoor Nationals one of the guys said that Whidden was building a test range. I wonder if that's where Eley testing is going

Yes, we will be testing at 50M and 100M.

I'm excited that we'll be the first test range to offer Eley, Lapua, RWS, and Norma in one place. You can send your shooting stick and really find out what it likes. Having ammo from multiple manufacturers will help us bridge some of these ammo shortages.

We're working hard on the construction now and will of course take our time in proving out our testing processes and procedures before we start. Right now it looks like we'll have the test range doors open about May 1.

Kind of in between. It's not a line of pipe, but it's no converted chicken house either. Wind will not influence the shooting.

2 hrs. for me and my buddy. We were up there at Widden's 2 weeks ago.
John's a super nice guy and his crew that work there for him are friendly and make you feel right at home. Widden's has definitely expanded since we were there last year.

An independent test center is certainly an interesting concept to be able to test multiple manufacturer's ammunition at one location. With that said, test protocols will certainly be of interest to account for different manufacturer's ammo lube.

Thanks for all the updates. I have a couple questions.
Given the current status of match ammo availability, particularly as it applies to Lapua, do you have any preliminary estimates as to numbers of lots one might expect to test? May one assume you will have ongoing supply support ?

Unfortunately the supply question is hard to answer. Lapua doesn’t give us any forecast type info so I can’t guess availability. I can tell you we have a mountain of it on back order and have been receiving sizable shipments recently. Lapua Long Range and Super Long Range are more available than Midas and Center X and we’ll certainly be testing those.

Eley has been working closely with us and the forecast there looks promising. The Eley I’ve shot myself recently has been superb.

We are told that we will have RWS in May.

We have been shooting some Norma XLR with good results and will have more of it in a couple of weeks. This ammo will also be worth testing.
