Ely CMP

My guess is that it is repackaged Eley Action ammo
"Action" is new to me. I'm familiar with the BR choices of Tenex/EPS. Club and Target are pretty common on the silhouette range. I'm thinking I'll stick with my usual practice/competition ammunitions.

Watch out for that paraffin wax, especially if shipped bulk in the summer. It happened to me.
Agreed. I got a case of Aguila Subsonic once that had "distributed" its bullet lube all over the unfired cases. Even in generously chambered factory sporters the lube build up after just a few rounds in the chamber would prevent reliable extraction of unfired rounds. No such issues with SK varieties.

i had a link to it where someone was selling it cheap in bulk boxes.. almost the same price as this stuff that is being sold from the CMP, but going back now.. i can't find it, only due to that i didn't save the link for it.. but using Ammoseek, i have found it.. at a much higher price, this ammo seems to be "eco" friendly ammo..

I liked what this guy did.. what showed interesting is that the pistol was hotter and more consistent than the rifle..

Not saying that it is great shooting stuff.. i have not had much luck with any of their product.. the point being that the pistol match was better than the rifle in consistent velocities.. that should prove to be better on the target one would think.

Thinking of how quickly things change, if this had been offered this time last year it probably would have sold out the first day. I never thought that we would ever see any 22 lr ammo this cheap again. Even if the lube has melted it takes nothing more than a quick wipe before putting it in the magazine or rifle. A lot of small bore silhouette shooters use SK and it is really greasy so standard practice is to give a quick wipe before loading.

I find that it is all that grease on the SK and the Center-X that is causing my jams in my 10/22. So i tried a experiment with wiping it all off.. with the SK SP ammo i had.. it appeared that it started to shoot a lil better and the jams stopped too..

Is this the Eley that is made in Mexico?

The outer shipping container and the inner boxes in the case i received are marked "Made in England Eley Ltd. Selco Way, Minworth, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B76 1BA Phone (406) 314-6249. www.eleyammderunition.com.

The outer box is additionally marked with the product ID # 07110-1.

it will be a week or two before my schedule will allow me to test fire any or measure rim thickness variations and projectile diameters.

Ely Sport (purple box) was made in Mexico and looked and performed exactly like some of the old PMC loads.
I saw a case of this new stuff at Asheville Pistol and Rifle Club last week but failed to check it to see its country of origin. I did look close enough to see it was not the same packaging as the Mexican Ely Sport.

Tried the CMP Eley in my S&W41. No problems. Seems a little hotter than CCI SV. I've had extraction problems with CCI but none with the CMP Eley.

Did not do a strict accuracy test but shooting one-handed NRA bullseye style, it's no worse than CCI SV from a SW41. For the SW41, I prefer the CMP Eley over the CCI SV because of its reliable functioning especially in colder weather. The nominal velocity of the Eley is 1090fps compared to the 1060 of the CCI.
