Eliseo Bobsled minor issue

Last year I built up a tube gun. During assembly I filed the magazine latch to hold and release my magazines, but this spring I bought a bobsled and that dang thing won't come out without pulling the bottom metal off and taking it out the top. So my question is: file the magazine latch some more, or touch up the metal catch on the bobsled?

I use a bobsled because I dislike using a magazine for slow fire when I'm shooting XTC.

I wouldn't file any more on the catch - danger of not holding mags in. I'd file on the sled.

On second thought, ask Gary.

The bobsled didn't work in my tube gun either, it was too loose and sat too low. Compare your mags and the bob sled and sand/file the bobsled. The little metal piece for the bobsled is molded in. I ended up making one out of hdpe with an adjustable tab.

In case this ever comes up again, Gary said to leave the mag catch alone since it was at the correct height for metal mags (Polymer mags will latch in, but there's more friction on the bolt than I want during rapids). Instead, take some material off the tab on the sled.

I filed a little at a time off the tab and got it to the point where it won't drop out, but if I push up on the front of the sled while holding the catch it will release - which is fine. AICS mags drop out, and MDT mags need a little finagling but work.
