I recently built a 350 Legend using a Savage 110 action and seated it in a MDT LSS-XL Gen2 chassis. I attempted to use the MDT 10-round polymer mag designed for 223 Remington but am experiencing feeding trouble. It will catch and push a round forward, but won't properly feed a round, as it is positioning the round too low and cramming the bullet nose into the feed ramp.
Hoping that an alternate metal AICS magazine might work, or offer a more friendly means of shaping, I purchased a Ruger AICS metal magazine, designed for the 350 Legend and in 5-shot capacity which I will ultimately need to satisfy local hunting regulations. Unfortunately, this magazine will not latch in the MDT chassis, although the MDT specification states that it accepts AICS magazines.
I am hopeful that someone here has some suggestions regarding alternate magazines or how I might make silk from the sow's ears I have laying around. At this point I am contemplating a chassis/stock change and returning to a Savage DBM system. Frustrating to say the least, especially given the action is bottom-bolt-release and all of the stocks I have in possession are for top-bolt-release actions.
Thanks in advance for any help you may be willing to offer.
