Electronic Target System Match

Thought I would post my targets, even though conditions were challenging and typical Blakely GA range conditions. Look forward to hopefully using this system in the future at some events

I like that this showed what my load was doing when I do my part. Easier to plot the shots and know more precise how close to the rings they were

Load on right is 44.5, load on left is 43.9(I shot 44.2 in the matches)

Looks good, I would like to try that sometime.

Andrew, I noticed you consistently do what I call a rookie mistake. You use sighters until you hit a 10 or an X and go for record immediately. I suggest that you take at least one verification shot before you go for score.

Thanks Erik for that tip. I usually try to get 2 in same spot. I may need to go few more to verify like you said

Not today. Some targets had 5 shooters on it. Yesterday on first match they pulled target so shooters could have then

It was a very cool system and even looked good on my Note2 phone. I left wondering if this would help the sport be more attractive to the push-button generation. One of the really cool things was being able to look at terminal velocities for each shot and then tapping the number to see where that shot landed.

It was a tough day for me trying to figure out the wind switches. The flags didn't seem to make much sense and my holds moved from off the black on the left to several minutes right at times. I definitely need a lot more time behind the trigger in conditions like today.

I liked the system. It eliminated the slow target puller situation. If the conditions stayed I let them fly as fast as I could until it changed. Scoring I guess is more accurate and shouldn't have need for challenges. Another cool thing is if a shooter is not on paper, they can look the entire section and find where it hit and get you back on paper. Luckily I didn't have to use this feature

Only downside I saw was going to be cost involved $$$

Andrew;
Can you share what the cost might be and if there was any discussion of how that might translate to match fees?

I am not sure on cost exactly. Not sure if fees would go up or if members would try to fund the targets and divide costs up

Their site might have prices. Silver Mountain targets

Sounds close. That is for one target system. So our normal matches we would need about 5 systems and the main orange box that the others communicate to.

While I was speaking to one of the other guys cant recall his name... He was talking about a good idea that may work. Each standalone system was around 3700 but if a few people could just get the yellow box that was in the pits on the target end then the club could buy the receiver. Allot less money that way. And each match put money into a fund so that if a sensor gets hit it could be replaced.

I did like the system. No pit puller duties and you can shoot at the speed you wanna shoot. Matt

I can envision two story covered firing lines with two shooters per target just letting it rip. 20 targets, 80 shooter, and all done before lunch! ;)
