Electronic hearing protectors?

I can't shoot with headphones on so I'm looking for in the ear hearing protectors for hunting. I can use custom molded plugs at the range but have been told my new 7mm. Rem. Mag. with muzzle break will seem louder than my old rifle. Thanks group, James

ESP hearing protection. On my second set after just 9 years on the first set. They still work fine, but my ear canal has changed shape a little.

Etymotic GSP15. Etymotic is known to make some of the finest earplug style headphones available. The sound quality is so good you forget you have them in. It's like they don't exist.

You may want to try the Walkers 2.0 blue tooth in the ear protection. They will allow use with two way radio or your cell phone. I'm trying a pair this week. I've been using the ESP, electronic shooters protection but no blue tooth capability. Rechargeable too.

I have custom molded electronic devices...DefendEar. High dollar and as good as it gets....however...I don't use them at matches as they DO NOT provide the protection that properly inserted foamies provide. Don't risk your hearing. At matches I use deep foamies (33dB reduction) with Sordin elect. muffs over the top to hear range commands and scorekeeper. My hearing loss has been minimal, if any, over the past 7 years of HP rifle comps. For duck hunting I use my DefendEars but none of my fellow hunters have ported guns and they seem to be just adequate but enable me to hear conversation and the calls of the various ducks. Using anything other than a properly inserted high attenuation foam plug while firing a 7 RM with a brake may compromise your hearing. If you can use a amplifying/gated muff over a foamy you should be able to hear well enough and get good protection. Just the foamy will likely be fine but you will lose your hearing sense during the hunt.
