Electronic hearing protection suggestions

My girlfriend is using the Walkers low profile for F Class shooting. I used to wear them but I switched to the disposable silicone swimmers ears because I hate shooting with bulky phones on. My requirements for protection are as follows:

1. must have electronics to amplify regular speech around me (currently I can’t hear anyone when they talk to me)
2. Must be in the ear to not interfere with shooting
3. Preferably sub $250
4. Must be reliable and have a good reputation
5. Must be able to wear at F Class competition without the noise being too great.

Hope you can help and suggest some good headphones for us, before my headphone drawer starts to rival the size of my holster drawer.

I am not a fan of these, not being a wise guy but I tried them and was not impressed at all. I use the walker behind the neck (or around the neck), the older ones are better (green color) the new ones (black) I can't hear anyone talking but they do great about filtering out the noise! (both sets). Love the bluetooth feature on both, used the blue tooth on the ottos and it was good just didn't suppress the sound enough. My $.02

No problem. I love ‘em. Mine do not have Bluetooth as far as know.

My local InstaMold provider (custom in-ear plugs while you wait) will fit to it a Walker Game Ear. Specifically it's the Game Ear that looks like a hearing aid. It's brown and fits behind the ear. He cuts a hole in the custom plug and puts the sound tube that comes out of the Game ear through the plug so the end of that sound tube is in your ear. When a gunshot goes off the Game Ear prevents the sound from getting through - and you've got the hearing protection of a custom (very comfortable) ear plug.

This solution has worked FANTASTICALLY well for me. Total price was $210: $60 for the plugs and $150 for one Game Ear. It is a little odd having it in one ear only. But it works.

Pro Ears Gold II are what I wear for ALL of the rifle/pistol/shotgun that I enjoy.
