el stupido question de ano, apologies in advance

i believe i have answer, i got it figured out (fingers crossed)

let's say i've got a fine load for my creedmoor at 42.3 gr h4350 with berger 140 hybrids going like 2750 ish.

if i got a box of 107 smk's, assuming they are well off the lands, could i just use my current load with no real safety concerns?

i mean, i just want to see how 5 or so of them shoot, if they look good , i will do load testing.

i sorta know that anytime you change anything you should re do the load but this SEEMS like a safe direction to go.

please be kind, my blood sugar is low.

Well from a load of powder you are not in dangerous territory with the same 42.3 of h4350 with the 107. In my 260 where i was using 42.5 h4350 for 140s my 107 load was 45 of h4350. My guess is that the 42.3 with the 107 might be pretty good for accuracy. In is a mild load and mild loads usually far pretty well

As long as 42.3g h4350 is at or above published starting loads for the 107's you are good.

your right, i have been sort of used to loading for my 6.5 saums and load data is scarce so i guess i got in the habit of checking with a group, i forgot how popular the creedmoor is now. i checked out hogdon which i should have done first and it seems like a very safe load. thanks,

I would do a short ladder test covering a couple grains on both sides of your current charge.
If you really wanna change Bullets a different powder may be in order

i am not sure on changing bullets, i wanted to see if there was any significantly less felt recoil and just see how they grouped

Hodgdon says 41.0 as a starting load to 46.0 compressed as a max load with H4350 and the 107 gr MK. IMO, it's doubtful 42.3 will be your load with both bullets. Do a test like SPJ said. If it were me I'd work up from the 42.3 in that situation.
