EGW Bases?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with EGW bases. I am building a 6mm BR for informal shooting matches and varmint hunting. They offer bases in 15MOA and 25MOA. I was told that I would need 20 MOA to get me out to 600 yards. I was wondering if the 15MOA would get me there and still have usable adjustment for work at 100 yards. I know the internal adjustment of the scope will be the determining factor of available range. I have benn looking at the new Sightron 8-32x56, but also thinking about the Bushnell elite 8-32x40. Any input will be appreciated.

EGW bases are good stuff, I buy them a lot for clients projects and havent had a complaint yet.

I put an EGW picatinney base on my XR-100 in 22-250. It seems to be a solid setup. It is aluminum. I prefer steel bases on medium to heavy recoiling rifles.

I have had EGW make a number of batches of specialty custom scope bases for me and my customers. Their product is typically excellent and well though out. I have had no complaints from any of the customers I sold their bases to and I use them on a vairety of long range prone rifles.

OK they sound like great products. Which one should I use for shooting out to 600 yards with a 6mm B.R.? 15 or 25? Thanks.

If you are only going to 600 yards either a 0 or 15 min taper is all you need. The 15 min taper will get you close to the center of your scope adjustment.
The only complaint I have about the EGW base is that I popped the head of one of the screws when tightening the base. They are sending me new screws though :)
I went with the 20min base but only because I plan to shoot 1000yds with it.

Thanks James I was told that I would need a 20 MOA to shoot 600. I would also like to be able down to 100 yard and have a little left for shooting past 600, so the 15 sounds like the ticket.

Last year I shot some informal 600yd competition with a 6BR with standard base and I had no problems getting to 600. But with the 15 min. base that will get you around the center of scope adjustments at 600yds which is a good thing.

Do you think the 15MOA will hurt me with shooting short range?
I would say you have about the same chance of the 15min base hurting you at 100 as the 0min base hurting you at 600.
I would make my decision based on where you plan to do most of your shooting 100 or 600 yds.
